Abigail Worth serves as the EMA Director. Abigail is Morgan County born and raised. She loves that each day she gets to wake up and help make the county she grew up in safer and more resilient. Abigail has worked Fire/EMS here for nearly ten years. She will be graduating from Mount Vernon University this fall with a degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management and has also received a certification in Professional Emergency Management from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. Her hobbies include practicing yoga and spending time with her husband and their dogs Boomer, Yukon, and Kodiak.
Emily Shields serves as the EMA Deputy Director. Emily moved to Martinsville in 2022 when she fell in love with her now husband. She fell in love with Morgan County soon after. Emily graduated from the Indiana University Police Academy in 2023 and is excited to be using what she has learned to serve the community in which she lives. In 2024, Emily earned her Professional Emergency Management certification from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, and she is currently a drone pilot for the Morgan County EMA. In her free time, Emily enjoys golfing, gardening, going on motorcycle rides with her husband, and hanging out with their big dogs Ischka and Micky.

from all types of hazards through a comprehensive, risk based, emergency management program of MITIGATION, PREPAREDNESS, REPONSE, AND RECOVERY.
