Statewide Smoking Law

On July 1, 2012, Indiana’s new Smoke-Free Air Law took effect.  All public places and places of employment in Indiana must post one or more of five types of signs, depending on the nature of the business.  Please check the link below for further information and printable signs and/or a link to the Breathe Easy Indiana site where you can order signage.

The Indiana ATC (Alcohol & Tobacco Commission) has several FAQ sheets and printable signage, as well as helpful information for businesses.

If you wish to file a complaint, it must be done through the ATC website.

If you have specific questions regarding the smoking ban and your responsibilities as a business owner or manager, please contact your local Health Department (765-342-6621) or the Excise Police (317-541-4100).

More information is available at the Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commission of the Breathe Easy Indiana website.

If you wish to place an order signage for your business, please visit the Breathe Easy Indiana website to request the Indiana Business Toolkit.
