How the Auditor’s Office Serves You
The Auditor’s and Treasurer’s office maintain separate accounting records to ensure proper use of public funds. All claims for payment are approved by the County Commissioners, while the County Council appropriates the amount of money that can be spent by each department
Budget Preparation for County Council
Preparation of County Annual Financial Report
Maintain fund ledgers, additional appropriations and transfers
Payroll for all County employees including withholding and payroll deductions, preparation of W2s, 1099s and IRS reporting
Employee Benefits and Personnel Files
Accounts Payable, auditing and processing payment of claims submitted by departments
Accounts Receivable for all types of revenue

The Auditor’s staff works closely with the Assessor’s and Treasurer’s office to complete these processes. Segregation of duties is determined by law and designed for transparency and accuracy

You may file the homestead and mortgage deductions by mail or e-mail. If you choose to file by mail, please provide a contact number for any questions. Also, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope for a return receipt. All other deductions require additional documentation and must be filed in the Auditor’s office.
